Collected 1000 MachWas bags
Birgit Bode and Andrea Pancur from our Kultur.vor.Ort team have been running the campaign for more than a month “Do-it-yourself bags for Ukrainian children” lifted.
Now the magic mark of 1000 donated bags reached!
Many people in Munich have lovingly put together bags with creative materials for Ukrainian children. Some of the bags were beautifully designed to match the theme or painted by children from different institutions.
Most of the bags were distributed to arriving families and children at the Munich table, but some were also taken to the Gorod cultural center.
Many Organisations have participated in the campaign with larger "deliveries":
330 bags from LIONS Club Munich Alt-Schwabing
50 bags from the EKI Mäcki spoon
Cafe Edelweiß in Giesing with over 20 bags from guests
Landesbank and BayernLB
Heimerer Academy for Social Pedagogy
The neighborhood meeting place Ramersdorf Süd has sewn pencil cases and bags.
The two initiators, Andrea and Birgit, would like to say a big thank you for all the bags donated and are overwhelmed by the response to their bag idea.
Many thanks also to:
The Giesinger Bahnhof cultural center and the Munich Children's Museum, which have made themselves available as a drop-off point in addition to KulturRaum München.
To our volunteers Mariia and Halina who were very helpful with translations and local distribution.
The promotion is now over, no more bags will be collected!
