Exchange on the topic of poverty and participation

Since November we have benefited from professional exchanges on the topic of participation and from exchanges with those affected: at the Munich Poverty Conference “Together Against Poverty” In the “shaere” in Neuperlach we were able to act as co-organizers in advance Office for Social Security, ACTIVE (Regional network for social work in Munich) and major social institutions bring our perspective. We found the findings from the panel discussion with six Munich citizens affected by poverty particularly important and we are pleased that we were also able to attract cultural guests to talk about their situation there.

At the subsequent trade fair under the motto “Living cheaply in Munich. A trade fair for everyone!” We were also represented with a stand.

We also traveled to Düsseldorf to take part in the Conference “Culture with whom?” to participate. Open workshop discussions focused on equal participation in culture. Based on the results of citizen science Research project “Cultural Participation and Citizen Science” We went beyond the status quo of structural barriers and discussed processes of change and new approaches to culture. In the research project of doctoral student Christine Stender, actors from the Federal Association for Cultural Participation were involved as project partners and citizen scientists, including KulturRaum München. The next day it went with that Annual meeting of the Federal Association for Cultural Participation continue.

In January we continued with the Catholic Poverty Conference. The Caritas in Munich has published a brochure on the subject of poverty in Munich that is well worth reading download here can.
