Inclusion in Munich

On behalf of the Munich Cultural Department, we have developed a website that provides information about the accessibility of Munich's cultural venues. This measure was implemented as part of the second action plan for the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in the City of Munich. The website www.kultur-barrierefrei-muenchen.de is intended to make it easier for people with disabilities to plan and attend cultural events in our city. After all, such cultural visits are often associated with many uncertainties. What kind of building can I expect? How big are the toilets, what is the floor like? Is it possible to be accompanied on site? Are there subtitles?

Such information can be found at www.kultur-barrierefrei-muenchen.de .

Information on the accessibility of cultural sites

With Kultur barrierefrei München we bundle all information on the accessibility of cultural venues in Munich. To this end, we have inspected Munich venues for their accessibility for people in wheelchairs, people with walking disabilities, deaf people, people with hearing impairments, blind people, visually impaired people, people with learning difficulties and people with psychological and mental disabilities.

The site Kultur barrierefrei München was created in close cooperation with the cbf – Club for the Disabled and their Friends eV (Club of the Disabled and their Friends) . The site offers an information platform on the accessibility of 250 cultural venues in the city. The information on the individual cultural venues is regularly added to the website and updated on an ongoing basis.
