MachWas bags for Ukrainian children

- The campaign ended at the end of April. Please don't bring any more bags. Thanks! -

Birgit Bode and Andrea Pancur from our Kultur.vor.Ort team have the action “Do-it-yourself bags for Ukrainian children” brought to life.

Given the senseless and unnecessary war in Ukraine, they wondered what could be done for the Ukrainian children arriving in Munich, besides providing the necessary basic care and professional support.

Children need employment opportunities, distraction, and most importantly, opportunities to express their experiences in different ways.

They want to offer children the opportunity to express themselves in a creative way, to make them understandable, to communicate their worries and needs to us in other ways, joy, distraction and perhaps also a bit of processing of what they have experienced.

It's very easy to take part: just put the things on the List get it, put it in a cloth bag and hand it in at one of the designated places.

The finished MachWas bags are distributed to the Ukrainian families at the food bank at the wholesale market and taken to the Gorod cultural center. Other locations will follow soon.
