Our patrons
Under the umbrella of Munich Mayor Verena Dietl, actress Gisela Schneeberger and Bavarian cabaret artist Amelie Diana, an amazing association has developed in recent years. Our patrons often represent the KulturRaum München in public and also support our goals behind the scenes. We are happy to let you have your say here:
Amelia Diana (pictured here): "What could be nicer for a cultural worker in Munich than to work to ensure that everyone - regardless of their income - can participate in the cultural life of the city. The food banks are of course very important for the socially disadvantaged, they help with the basic need of nutrition. But without the KulturRaum München, the soul hungers and less solvent people would be lonely far too often. I am happy to help draw attention to the fact that this help is given sufficient attention.”
Verena Dietl: “Culture is not just a pleasure, but an important foundation of our society. As such, it should also be accessible to all. KulturRaum München makes an important contribution to social interaction and cohesion. Cultural participation for everyone, regardless of origin or income - this is a project that I am very happy to support as a patron."
Gisela Schneeberger: “How can you not think something like that is great? It is so important that even people without a big wallet can participate in cultural life. When I played at the Residenztheater, I often saw seats in the front rows remaining empty, even when the premieres were sold out, because senior civil servants simply let their free tickets expire. This is a pity."
Christine Strobl, Munich's longtime mayor, held the umbrella sponsorship for KulturRaum München from 2012 to 2020.
