"KulturPaten für München" continues thanks to Aktion Mensch

Since 2016 we have received extensive funding from Action man for our project "Cultural Sponsors for Munich", where volunteers from Munich regularly accompany refugees and people with disabilities to cultural events.

In the past two years, we have been able to create direct and personal contact between people with and without disabilities, between locals and newcomers - in the middle of Munich and outside of social institutions. Joint cultural visits and a close exchange with each other result in a direct inclusion of the two target groups in Munich city life.

110 volunteer sponsors who have been reporting on shared cultural experiences for almost three years confirm this with overwhelming feedback. Thanks to a 2-year extension of the funding by Aktion Mensch, the project is now “successfully continuing”. The organization of the cultural events attended together, the intensive care of the godparents and the stabilization of the extensive network is thus ensured. Our volunteer KulturPat*innen, their mentees and Kulturraum München eV are very happy about the opportunity to experience many more cultural visits together.
