Founding and organization of KulturRaum Munich
The KulturRaum Müchen was founded on February 15, 2011, and ticket sales began in October 2011. A newspaper article about the Kulturloge Berlin in November 2010 provided the impetus. The founders, Sabine Ruchlinski and Monika Eberl, wanted to make cultural visits possible for people with low incomes, following this model, even in a wealthy city like Munich. The idea originated in Marburg, where the first Kulturloge was founded. Meanwhile, there is the Federal Association for Cultural Participation eV, which also includes KulturRaum München.
On 1 April 2025, we entered into a non-profit limited liability company (gGmbH) and are registered as such in the commercial register. The gGmbH is represented externally by the managing directors Sabine Ruchlinski and Katharina Maurer. The "Friends of the Munich Cultural Space" association is the sole shareholder of the gGmbH.
Our organization is made up of a large group of volunteers, sponsors, the full-time office team, and the support association “Friends of the KulturRaum Munich.”
The entire team, with its diversity and commitment, is what makes KulturRaum München so successful. People from all walks of life and all age groups come together here.
